It has been brought to my attention by a loyal reader (*coughMOMcough*) that, while it’s obvious what the point of this series is (stop and identify the good things in life; don’t focus on the bad, blah, blah, blah), the reader is in danger of needing insulin after a steady diet of the Besst, especially when considering the Bessts that feature the Interrupted family members.
I hope everyone realizes that at no time am I trying to imply that the Interrupteds are perfect. If you don’t know me, or haven’t been reading my columns, I’ll repeat: our family is just as flawed as anyone else’s. Everyone gets into the same kind of challenges/trouble as they do in yours.
Of course, the flip side is also true: your family is just as perfect as mine. No doubt that your kids have their moments of kindness sprinkled in among the moments where they loudly refuse to do their chores; your coworkers (hey, you see them more than your own family) bail you out of jams when they’re not drinking all the coffee and don’t make more; your spouse remembers the anniversary of your first kiss even as he fails to put the seat down.
Your life is what you remember. I hope you’re remembering the good stuff.
Oh, and the Besst of the weekend? Many good things happened: breakfast with one of the Interrupted daughters; kitchen cabinets finally got their punch list punched; it rained all day Saturday; youngest Interrupted drove me to Target!
And one other thing: I heard from my most loyal reader!
