Lordy, this is getting old. I wake up one morning thinking, “Hey, what was the Besst for yesterday?” only to discover that four days have gone by without me noticing. Which wouldn’t be a problem if I’d slept or partied wildly for four days, because then I would have been having fun instead of just working all the freaking time, and I could blame this on blackouts.
So not only is THIS getting old, I’M getting old. I’m reasonably sure I’m gonna wake up tomorrow and I’ll be 85 and wondering who put the Depends on me in the night.
Anyway, Besst things did, in fact, happen over these four days, so let’s get on with it:
Sunday, 2/24: Saw Abby on her way out of town, bought her a tank of gas and did some shoe shopping with her. If I remembered to wash any clothes this week, I’ll wear the shoes that I bought to work today. Then I got to go to dinner with Laner and her boyfriend for sushi. (I bet this makes you wonder what I’m wearing to work if I didn’t wash any clothes. That makes two of us.)
Monday, 2/25: I have no recollection of Monday. Apparently I survived it, and nothing hideous happened, so we’ll take the absence of horrible as a Besst.
Tuesday, 2/26: Had dinner with relatives from out of town. Lovely people, even lovelier babies. Definitely the highlight.
Wednesday, 2/27: Pushed back when I needed to. I’m bad at that; I am not programmed to get into people’s faces, so it’s always a bonus for me when I do it. Better still, I did it instinctively, and in a positive manner, without weeping. I still promised myself secret vengeance To Be Named Later, so I’m covered on all points.

So glad to know you enjoyed dinner with relatives. I know that great-grandma enjoyed it too.
