7:05 pm: “But Keptin, this is the garden spot of Ceti Alpha Six.” — Inside Joke
I only wish this were a joke. Welcome to Phoenix, Home of “It’s a Dry Heat” and “Hotter Than The Hinges of Hell.”
As someone who was raised in Philadelphia, let me tell you Internetz:
- Stepping into this heat makes you feel like you’re being broiled.
- That said: when I leave my over air-conditioned office, my first thought as I step out into the sunshine is relief.
- I actually look forward to July and August, because the humidity rises and cuts the broiler effect a bit.
- At that point natives run around complaining about how humid it is. It’s 40%, fergawedsakes!
- I was raised in a place where 95% humidity is commonplace. This is not humid.
- My electric bill is the size of the gross national product of Zimbabwe.
- The man who invented Freon is a god.
That is all.
What the heck is she doing now?

If the man who invented Freon is your god (and I’m not arguing this) then your heaven is DuPont!
I said he’s A god, not THE God.
