
This is Grandpa, Interrupted’s Model A, a little gift he gave himself many years ago. When Mom and Dad lived in Prescott, he would drive in the Fourth of July parade and if we were visiting, as many Interrupteds as could fit in the rumble seat would be in the parade, too.
That’s not as easy as it looks, by the way, riding in a car and being in a parade. Oh, it’s not up there with brain surgery, but you have to do something; you can’t just sit there and watch the world go by, lest you look all snooty. Dad had to keep reminding me to smile and wave, which made it a total Introvert’s Nightmare.
I have a lot more sympathy for the British royal family after that.
