Hey, I *really* hit my sleep goal! Second time this month.
Two things today:
First: Yay for seven hours of sleep!
Second: Yesterday we went mattress shopping.
It’s been a while since Dad, Interrupted and I got a new bed. So long, in fact, that I’m not even going to admit how long it’s been because it’s kind of embarrassing.
I’ve been complaining about not being exceptionally comfortable at night, and so DI suggested that a new one might be in order and that now might be a good time.
So off we go, and I learned right away: just as you shouldn’t go to the grocery store when you’re hungry, you shouldn’t go to the mattress store when you’re sleepy and vertiginous. Also, mattresses are wicked expensive.
But I’m really trying to focus on sleeping better, so we tried all of them. And settled on one that actually can put me in a zero gravity position, of all things, so I can sleep like a baby for reals. (We validated this decision using the awesome website sleeplikethedead.com. These people are more obsessive than me, if such a thing is even possible.)
It’s going to take a while to get it, though, so last night I had to go back to sleeping on the old, sad bed. Which is kind of like going to look at model homes that are all shiny and pretty and then coming home to your old house and having to still live there.

I think it knows it’s being replaced.
I’m very excited though: once I get the new zero-gravity bed, I can actually use the Fitbit data to compare the quality of my sleep. I’m building the spreadsheet now.
Nerd.
What the heck is she doing now?
