Today was not a good day.

On it’s face, it wasn’t horrid, but the list of annoying-to-irritating-to-maddening events is a long one.

I actually made a list this afternoon.

One event stands out: I was talking to a coworker who gave me a compliment. Our conversation running up to the compliment does not bear repeating, but she observed, on the basis of questions I asked and statements I made, that I don’t label people. I meet them, and don’t decide about them, or assume I know about them, based on the way they dress, wear their hair, or just are.

I have a lot of respect for this coworker. She is smart and funny and wry and honest. I am honored to get such a compliment from such a person.

And Coworker (and you know who you are) if I misunderstood what you said and you really weren’t complimenting me, give me a day or two before you set me straight.

Because today really did bite.

What is the Besst project?

And why is it called Besst?
