Almost six years ago, I left my second job as a Weight Watchers leader when I was unable to commit to their training schedule. Separate from WW, I had been working hard to expand my consulting practice as a compensation professional, and in June, 2008, something had to give.
That was a hard thing to do. I loved working with my members, and make no doubt about it: they were truly ‘mine.’ I celebrated every pound with them, and seeing them every week was easily one of the best jobs ever.
Today I heard from one of them, out of the blue, when I was feeling low and unmotivated. D was just the best: my first member to hit the 100-lb loss mark, and fun to know and a delight to speak with. Dad, Interrupted will testify that when I saw the email sitting in my inbox I just whooped and you know what?
I’m still smiling.
