The Besst thing about missing several days in a row (again) of logging the Besst is that
a) I liked writing it every morning but
b) my mornings have de-evolved into an entirely different beast with no opportunity for lounging and composing posts
c) and I wouldn’t have noticed the devolution unless I was trying to figure out what’s wrong with me and recording my Bessts.
I detect circular logic. Whatever. It has become apparent that some people have no proof anymore that I exist unless I’m doing this (Hi, Mom!) and I’m aware of my responsibilities in this matter, so here we go.
Thursday: I’m not sure I remember Thursday.
Friday: It was Friday. And I learned how to set the third dial on my watch so it wouldn’t say “31” instead of “1,” which was a little harder and a lot more counterintuitive than we’re giving that task credit for.
Saturday: Date night with Dad, Interrupted. Frozen yogurt! Also, I had a lovely chat with a friend in Missouri, thanks to Skype. Embroidered a whole bunch! And (and this should explain what the first part of the year has been like for me, in a nutshell): I was able to spend about six hours at work in the morning. Every day this week, so far, I am waking up and saying, “Dang, I am so happy I got to do that, because I would have drowned, literally and figuratively, in paperwork and tears, had I not.” [Insert your own conclusion here.]
Sunday: At the last minute, had a better idea for my column and that makes writing it so much easier. Have become obsessed with the song “Hey Ya,” by Outkast. I have no explanation for that one.
Monday: So, so, SO much progress on our enterprise application. And our team ate outside by the fountain in the near-80 degree weather.
I shall endeavor to post in the evenings now, as that may fit the new schedule better.
