So, the Besst thing about today was kind of a tie.
One great thing that happened was that the enterprise application my team is implementing hit a good milestone today, which is a good thing, because this baby is due, like, Friday. But data matched between the company’s operations software and our software, and I looked at that and said, “Hey! I think we’re a few centimeters dialated!”
Which means I’m about due for my epidural, which I’m gonna need, trust me.
Another good thing was that I came home to see my lovely family room. Now, the bookcase pictured was built by Dad, Interrupted and his minions several months ago. And I love every single part of it. But I didn’t like the top shelf, because the only thing I could think of to do was put silk plants on it, which is so two decades ago.
But my in-laws were here this weekend for that whole Eagle thing, and my mother-in-law graciously said she’d help me figure out what to do with that shelf. She even printed up a coupon from Joann for me, and we raided the place and now the top shelf doesn’t look like an afterthought.
She didn’t even laugh at our Star Trek: Next Generation Pez dispensers, which occupy an honored spot on said shelf.
