I’m not one to sit around and guess who’s going to hell, if for no other reason than that I’m superstitious and don’t want to make God think that I’m then picking out my seatmates for the bus ride.
But if you held a gun to my head and said, “Pick one person who’s a big candidate for Satan’s Sandbox,” I’d seriously consider Fred Phelps, pastor of the Westboro Baptist Church. (I can’t even bear to type out his transgressions, so I’ll just link to them here.) Bad enough to do what he does; to do so in the name of God is just horrific.
So I was pleased to see this news clip today. Since Phelps’ right to spew his hate is Constitutionally-protected, the only way to combat him and his cadre is to band together, much the way the people of Billings, Montana did when local Jews were being persecuted during Hanukkah. (I will set a personal record of links in an article by giving you this to click so you can read about the wonderful people of Billings.)
Perfect. Just perfect. I would love to have the opportunity to do this here in Phoenix.
Do you know about the Patriot Guard Rider’s? They are a motorcycle club that follows Phelp’s turd breath band of haters, and when they attempt to protest during funeral processions, The Patriot Guard shows up with huge American flags and blocks the protesters. Their website is: patriotguard.org. They have been very successful and only show with permission of bereaved families. The WBC protests in and around Peoria regularly. In reality, the WBC has maybe 3 or 4 losers who show up. Ignorant jackholes who clearly don’t have enough to do.
