A little background.

Well, I did it again: didn’t hit the pillow until 11, got up at 5:30, and am STILL hitting about a six.

Okay, a 5.5. I don’t feel well-rested, but I’m not homicidal, either.

There must be other factors at play here. I’m still not eating refined carbs, and it doesn’t matter what this little experiment says, that’s a good thing. I’ve been hanging out with a couple newly-diagnosed diabetics, and they report (and I see) much more even temperaments as they manage their blood sugar.

The challenge I’m running into is that I’m getting home from work and hanging out with my sons, and that’s also a good thing. But since I’m an awful mom and do not make teens go to bed at a certain time as long as they are taking care of all their business, Sam and I are staying up until about 10:30 playing games together.

I should definitely be doing my chores and such (such as they are) BEFORE we start playing, and insist that we stop at 10:15. Then I could pop right into bed.

That’ll be good, because I can tell I’m running more on fumes today.
